why won't he talk to me at the gym ?


So I have a dilemma..

I've been going to the gym for about 2 years (at this location).

There is this guy who's pretty darn hot, probably mid 20s or so, but unsure. I've seen him for the past 2 - 2.5 years at the gym, and it's been so confusing. I go to the gym to work out and break a sweat. I'm not like other girls who wear a ton of makeup and try to get guy's attention.

I think this guy saw me checking him out, and ever since then, he would walk pass me, or work out around me. It gets me nervous sometimes when he does that, so I end up starting at the ground or just staring straight as he walks by or work out in front of me.

He won't say hi or anything, and I think he may have a girlfrirend because I did see a girl going to the gym with him like 5 times throughout this 2 - 2.5 years, but not in the recent 9 months. They wore matching colors! I'm sure they were dating! Yes, assumptions, I know, he may be gay as well, who knows.

I told a few of my friends, and they either said, he likes my attention because it gives him an ego boost, or he just likes to mess with my mind because he knows I'm checking him out. I don't know how he knew I was checking him out, but he knows.

I often go to the gym and can totally see him looking around my area to see if I'm at the gym. At times, when I leave, he'll walk pass me, or when I go to the gym he'll walk pass my workout to 'signify' that he's 'there'.

I don't really get it, my other friend said he's probably insecure and wants to feel validated with my attention or he might of convinced himself that he knows I have a thing for him.

Everyone is telling me to talk to him or say hi, but I refuse, because if he REALLY wants to talk to me, he would. If a guy really is into a girl, he would make the move. Heck, cocky, arrogant guys would talk to chicks, and if he likes ego boosts so much, why won't he talk to me?

When I DO indeed try to make eye contact, he looks away!

It all comes down to, why won't he say hi?

Liesel 		Hi Gym Lady, Interesting question - I'm new on here so here's my input :-D

This man you talk about - is he always at the Gym? Does he do this type of stuff round other girls at the Gym? If that is his game I'd ignore him and he will get the message that you are not interested in playing games. If he is truly interested he will start a conversation with you me thinks. I think another person said that but I am not sure!! is there someone other than him you can flirt with? I never had any luck in Gyms myself!!!!

Let us have an update??

StepUp2it 		Mmmmm...sounds like a player to me. You're probably right about him having a girlfriend or someone else in the background as I'm guessing he would have made his move by now if he hadn't. I'm pretty sure a gay man wouldn't act like that unless he was looking for America's next top model and you fitted the bill because you'd spent so much time at the gym, you've achieved a body that every woman would be envious of!! He sounds like he wants total command of the situation and by indicating his interest and doing sod all about it, he's kind of getting that isn't he? If you like controlling partners, I'm guessing this one is pretty high up there so maybe consider what you'll actually get if anything does indeed happen. Either that or call his bluff and speak to him - asking him out on a date will probably deflate his ego so a simple hello might break the ice?
