Should I break the code?


I have a crush on one of my best friend's exes. We (the ex and I) are going to the prom as friends. My friend knows this. She suggested that we go together, because we would look cute together. She asked him to go with me (which I would rather have done myself), and is fine with it. She says, however, if we kiss, I'm in trouble. The best friend code says not to date your friend's ex, but I want to. I don't think he really knows that I like him. Should I risk our friendship so I can be happy?
