How can I tell my husband I want a divorce?


Hello

I have been married for over ten years to a man who I loved very much at the start but who now, I cannot bare to be in the same room with. We have recently started sleeping apart (I told him I had back problems to find an excuse) and now I am not sleeping in the same bed with him I feel even more sure about wanting to leave this marriage. We don't have any kids and I'm ok for money etc but I'm lacking the courage to just tell him. even though I don't feel the same as I did all the years ago I want out. Should I just come out with it? I don't know. Maybe I should simply move out and go through a lawyer or something. Anyone else offer some advice?

Oracle 		Hello Anonymous,
What a difficult decision to make..ten years is a long time with somebody and I can see why you are finding this difficult to work out! You didn't mention that you have talked with your husband? Is there really nothing more that can be done to save your marriage? have you looked for professional help? In the UK there is an organisation called Relate (http://www.relate.org.uk) maybe they could help? You didn't say if you were in the US or the UK but perhaps they can offer something?. I don't think anyone can give you personal advice about telling your husband you want a divorce - that has to be a decision you make unfortunately. I wish you lots of luck in this difficult period.
